Jon Provost and John DeLancie at the Houston Collie Rescue 2011 Reliant Dog Show Booth.
HCR had the pleasure of Deborah Wrigley coming out reporting on the 2011 dog show. She and camera Guy consumed our booth & even sat and chatted for awhile. They did lots of filming and interviewed with Beth Roose and Jon Provost which was great exposure for HCR. 10/12/2009 - HCR Members Susan and Pat visit
Colony Meadows Elementary in Sugar Land
with their adopted Collies Zoe, and Penny
This morning, Susan and I went to Colony Meadows Elementary School in Sugar Land with Zoe, Penny and Spirit. My neighbor who teaches there asked us if we would visit, as they were studying animal habitats and she knew that Susan and I had visited Westwood Elementary last year as part of their study program. This was a great opportunity for us to talk about Houston Collie Rescue as well as our Faithful Paw therapy dog visits. There was even a little girl there that approached Susan to tell her she had eye surgery similar to her dog Penny's.
We were originally going to visit 92 fourth grade children, but when word got out that we were there, the kindergarten class came in and then we spent time with four special education children.
Susan took the attached photos. See if you can find us and our dogs in the middle of the group shot. When the kids heard we were taking a group photo, they mobbed us to get in the photo.
